How It Started

In 2019, the Quapaw Nation received a $40,000 grant from the First Nations Development Institute to open our farmers market on Route 66 in Quapaw, Oklahoma. The Quapaw Farmers Market is an indoor venue for community members, backyard farmers, and larger-scale producers alike to buy and sell products. The market is open to everyone in the community and features family-friendly activities. The Route 66 location is just blocks from Quapaw Public Schools, O-Gah-Pah Learning Center, Tribal Elder Activity Center, and residential neighborhoods.
